Don’t let the strike ruin your night!
8th Jul 2015
Uh oh... it looks like the tube strike is going ahead. But if you're thinking of ditching your night's entertainment at Udderbelly Festival - don't have a cow, man! We've put together some handy tips to help you make your way to the purple cow. And with an incredible line-up at Tongue Fu and The Horne Section, plus our headline circus show Bromance, these are two nights you don't want to miss!
If you live in London, it's probably already your favourite app. Simply set your starting location and destination, and Citymapper does the rest. And they've added a Strike Safe mode to make avoid routes that go Underground.
Catch an OVERground train!
The tube may be closed, but the Overground, National Rail and DLR trains do their own thing. Visit National Rail to find out which train you can take.
Catch a bus!
There are loads of busses which stop close by Udderbelly Festival on the Southbank, which means you can travel across London and enjoy the view while you're at it. Does the tube let you do that? No it doesn't. Use TFL's Route Planner to see what busses will bring you to the purple cow.
Ride a bike!
There are also loads of cycle hire points behind Southbank Centre, which mean you can enjoy the view AND get some fresh air. Does the tube let you do that? No it doesn't. Citymapper can show you where to pick up and drop off a bike.
Catch a boat!
The Thames Clipper lets you enjoy unlimited travel across central London. You can hop on and off, including at the London Eye right by Udderbelly Festival. And they're running an enhanced service during the strike!
With all of these options and a bit of prior planning, there's no reason to miss out on a moo-vellous night at Udderbelly. See you there!
