Forget Gangsta rap and welcome Grandma rap!  Ex-Music Hall star turned OAP rapper Ida Barr’s rhymes are legend amongst lovers of urban beats.  Another of her skills is as bingo caller.  An afternoon spent ‘eyes down’ with Ida is a hilarious combination of comedy, pathos, songs and all the thrill of housey housey.  Ida has her own bingo calls (“Idi Amin – 15”, “I don’t speak Urdu – 22”), the first two games you get the calls and the numbers, but by round three you’re on your own with just the calls.  If you weren’t paying attention and you don’t know the name of Ida’s Chiropodist then you won’t win.  It’s fast, furious and you can win top prizes (courtesy of PoundStretcher).

Ida, a favourite of Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, is the creation of Olivier Award-winning character comedian Christopher Green·

'Ida Barr is leg-crossingly funny and occasionally heartbreakingly moving'

'Missy Elliot meets Marie Lloyd. Awe inspiring'

'No mere drag act... To use dancefloor parlance, no one mashes up music hall and rap like Barr'
