Alfstock is a charity event raising money for Angel Child – in conjunction with The Brain Tumour Charity – to fund new research into paediatric brain tumours, pushing towards more successful, safer, kinder treatments for brain cancer and improved prognoses and life expectancy. Together with The Brain Tumour Charity, Angel Child has chosen to raise funds for a groundbreaking new research project led by Professor Richard Gilbertson, a paediatric oncology clinician and the Director of the Cambridge Cancer Centre at Cambridge University, which will cost £1.44m over the next four years.

Alfstock is also held in memory of Alfie Bartlam, who died in summer 2019, aged seven.
